Malta’s Eurovision 2026 representative Aidan, will appear as a special guest at the grand final of Lithuania’s national selection, Eurovizija.LT 2026.

Guest Appearance in Vilnius

Aidan confirmed his participation through his official channels, announcing that he will take to the stage during the final. His appearance will form part of the interval performances while Lithuania selects its representative for Eurovision 2026. This will be the second foreign national selection that Aidan has attended during the pre-Eurovision season, following a previous performance at Bulgaria’s selection show earlier in the year.

What is Eurovizija.LT?

Lithuania has used a national final to select its Eurovision representative for all of its entries bar its debut in 1994. The national final itself has undergone frequent name changes and small format changes. From 2020 to 2023, the country used “Pabandom iš naujo!” (translation – We try again!) as its national final. Most recently in 2024, Eurovizija.LT was the name of the national final. There were 40 participants across 5 semi-finals, with two participants advancing to the final from each.

Malta’s Eurovision Journey

Malta made its Eurovision debut in 1971, with Joe Grech performing “Marija I-Maltija” (Maria the Maltese Lass), finishing 18th with 52 points. Malta did not participate in Eurovision from 1975 until 1991, when they returned with the song “Could It Be” by Paul Giordimaina and Georgina, finishing 12th with 32 points. Since then, Malta has been at every Eurovision and finished in the top 10 an impressive 12 times. Their best result is second place, which they’ve achieved twice. The first time was in 2002, when Ira Losco sang “7th Wonder,” and the second time in 2005 with Chiara’s “Angel.”

Miriana Conte represented Malta in 2025 with her song “Serving”, previously known as “Kant”. Competing in the second semi-final, Malta qualified – ending their three-year long non-qualification streak. Miriana would eventually finish in 17th place, earning a total of 91 points. Of these, 83 came from the juries, while just 8 came from televoters.
