MRT select Ana Stojanoska and “Idnata Jas”

North Macedonia has made its selection for Junior Eurovision due to be held later in the year in Ta’ Qali, Malta. Broadcaster MRT made the announcement following an open submission. MRT then held an audition process that featured nine young artists from North Macedonia, with MRT 1 broadcasting the recorded auditions on television for the first time.

Ana was selected unanimously by the MRT expert jury, with a press release praising the young singer for her “vocal abilities, stage presence and artistic potential”. Ana will now join the other young singers from across Europe on the Junior Eurovision stage in October.

Alongside the artist announcement, MRT confirmed that the song for the Junior Eurovision contest had also been chosen. The song, “Idnata Jas” (The Future Me) was composed by Nikola Micevski, who MRT describes as one of the most respected and successful names on the Macedonian music scene. The song was written with the help of Ilcho Nechovski of the popular Macedonian band “Duper”.

While Ana was chosen through the live studio auditions process, the song itself was selected through a separate process, but was also unanimously chosen by the MRT panel.

MRT says:

The Macedonian entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 unites the talent of Ana Stojanoska with the experience and creativity of the writing team. Through Ana’s voice, Nikola Micevski’s musical vision and Ilcho Nechovski’s lyrical sensitivity, Macedonia aims to present a song with emotion, energy and a strong message for young audiences across Europe.
