It has been revealed that Spain’s entry for Junior Eurovision 2026 will be the song “Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)” performed by 10-year-old Lucas Paulano.
What do we know about the song?
According to Spanish broadcaster RTVE, the song “Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)” has been composed by Blas Cantó, who represented Spain at Eurovision in 2021, Dangelo and Carlos Alamazán. Young Lucas Paulano has also contributed contributed to the composition.
While we do not know much about the song yet, the title suggests that it may be in Italian and Spanish. In addition, RTVE has said the following about their entry:
The song is born from an idea as simple as it is powerful: in Latin, to remember means “to pass through the heart again.” Thus, the song connects love with memory and celebrates the memories of our loved ones as a source of light, strength, and inspiration—those moments and people who remain within us and drive us to grow and become who we want to be.
Spain’s Junior Eurovision journey
Spain has so far taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a total of 9 times, with their first participation coming in the first edition of the Contest in 2003. In the initial Contest, Spain was represented by Sergio singing “Desde el cielo”, and at the close of voting Spain finished in second place, earning 125 points. Spain would go on to win the next edition of the show with MarÃa Isabel’s “Antes Muerta Que Sencilla”, finishing with 171 points.
Spain was represented by Gonzalo Pinillos at the 2025 Contest, who sang “Érase una vez (Once upon a Time)”. He received 98 points from the jury and 54 from the online vote, combining for a total score of 152 points and fifth place overall.
