With Eurovision New Year, literally hours away, we continue to see countries confirming their participation at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. The next country to confirm their participation is Estonia. The Baltic Nation’s confirmation, sees them participating at the Eurovision Song Contest for the 27th time since their debut.
Eesti Laul to be used to find Estonia’s next Eurovision representative
With the news that they will be participating at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, it’s been revealed that submissions for the thirteenth edition of Eesti Laul will commence on the 2nd September, with the rules being published.
The dates of when the next edition of Eesti Laul, will be confirmed at a later date.
Estonia’s Eurovision Journey
Making their debut in 1994, Estonia was first represented by Silvi Vrait with the song “Nagu merelaine”. Since then, Estonia has participated 26 times (16 of which, were in the Grand Final), and won the competition once in 2001 with Tanel Padar, Dave Benton, and 2XL with the song “Everybody”.
Estonia’s recent participation at the Eurovision Song Contest, saw them being represented by Uku Suviste (who was originally meant to be their representative in 20220), with his entry “The Lucky One”, which placed 13th in the 2nd Semi-Final, receiving 58 points from the juries and televoters.
