The confirmation of countries participating at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, continues to roll in, as more countries reveal their plans. Poland is up next, as TVP’s director Jacek Kurski confirm that they will be participating at the next edition of the contest, which is due to be held in Italy.
Selection method still to be confirmed
When asked by Jastrzab Post, on how TVP is intending to select their Eurovision representative, it was revealed that the selection method is still not set.
We don’t know yet, but we want to start these preparations earlier. The problem lately has been that very unsatisfactory proposals have just been sent. We never revealed them, because it is difficult to reveal things that you gave up. Why make a fuss about it.
Jacek Kurski on Poland’s selection of its Eurovision 2022 representative
Mr. Kruski was also asked, how TVP will be revealing its Eurovision 2022, in which he mentioned that he would like for preparations to begin much earlier, with the intention to reveal the entry later.
I’d like us to reveal the Eurovision candidate maybe late, but they were working on this hit much earlier . Still this fall. Because then it’s very late to start the promotion and find the right song.
With this reveal, it could be that Poland’s Eurovision 2022 representative would be internally selected by TVP.
Poland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest, when Edyta GΓ³rniak represented them with the song “To nie ja!”, and placed 2nd (which is Poland’s best result at the contest to date). Since then, Poland has participated 23 times (14 of which was in the Grand Final). Poland’s recent Eurovision participation, saw them being represented by RAFAΕ, who competed with “The Ride”, where he managed to place 14th with 35 points from the Jury and Televoters.
