Further information about the upcoming Benidofrm Fest has been revealed. Spanish broadcaster RTVE has announced its musical advisors for Eurovision 2022 in Turin. J Cruz, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, and Zahara will help select the twelve best songs for Spain’s national final.

About the Advisors
J Cruz works within the urban music scene in Spain and has already composed some of the biggest selling hits in the country, where he even managed to achieve 13 platinum records as a songwriter in one year.
Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson is no stranger to Eurovision, he was one of the composers of Spain’s 2012 and 2015 entries. Tony has also worked on past national final songs for the country, so he knows what works and doesn’t when it comes to Eurovision.
Zahara’s success isn’t just local her music is famous in Spain and all over Latin America. She has released six studio albums, and have experience in TV shows such as Likes, Canciones que cambiaron el mundo, Historia una Canción and Operación Triunfo.

Spain’s Eurovision Journey
Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 with Conchita Bautista’s “Estando Contigo”. The country earned its first win in 1968 with Massiel’s “La La La”, and won again in 1969 with Salome’s “Vivo Cantando” in an infamous four-way tie. Although they have yet to win again, Spain earned several 2nd place finishes, most famously with Mocedades’ “Eres tu” in 1973 and Anabel Conde’s “Vuelve conmigo” in 1996.
Spain has been less successful in recent years. Although they achieved two 10th place finishes in 2012 and 2014, the country has not finished above 20th place since 2015, including one last-place in 2017. They finished 24th at the 2021 contest with 6 points from the jury and no televote points.
