The countries that have internally selected their entry for Turin continue to reveal their entry. CyBC has confirmed that Andromachi will be the Cypriot representative for 2022 with her song “Ela”. Cyprus will participate in the first half of the second semi-final on May 12.
The song was written by Alex Papaconstantinou, Arash (Azerbaijan’s 2009 Eurovision representative), Eyelar Mirzazadeh, Fatjon Miftaraj, Filloreta Raci Fifi, Geraldo Sandell, Giorgos Papadopoulos, Robert Uhimann, Viktor Svensson and Yll Limani.
The entry will be staged by Marvin Dietmann and Dan Shipton.
Andromachi has already seen success across Europe. Born in Germany, she rose to fame after participating in the Greek edition of The Voice in 2015. This was followed by a string of successful singles, including “Na Soun Psema”.
She is signed to Panik Records, who describe her as having “a stage presence that reminds of a beautiful fairy”. Much of her music draws on Hellenic folk influences, with a modern twist.
