After the reveal of his Eurovision entry and the recording of his Live-On-Tape performance in Bulgaria a few days ago, Marius Bear has revealed that Sacha Jean Baptiste is the Creative Director for Switzerland’s Eurovision 2022 participation in Turin.
Continuing on from Melodifestivalen 2022
This isn’t the first time this season that we’ve seen Sacha’s work. This season, Sacha, alongside the Jean Baptiste Group was part of the creative team at Melodifestivalen 2022, where they had a hand at designing and choreographing performances for the 28 participants as well as the host Oscar Zia.
In addition to this, this is not the first time Sacha has worked with the Swiss delegation. She has also worked with them in 2019 with Luca Hänni’s “She Got Me” which placed fourth, and in 2021 with Gjon’s Tears and “Tout l’Univers” which placed 3rd in Rotterdam.
At the time of writing, no details have been given in regards to Marius’ staging for Turin, so stick around to be one of the first ones to know.
Switzerland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1956, Switzerland was one of the countries that debuted in the inaugural competition in 1956, where they won with Lys Assia and “Refrain”. Since then they have participated on 61 occasions, with 50 of them making the Grand Final.
Switzerland’s recent participation saw them being represented by Gjon’s Tears with their song “Tout l’Univers”, which saw them qualify for the Grand Final for a second consecutive participation. Overall, Switzerland finished 3rd, after receiving 432 points from the jury and televoters.
