Serbia’s national broadcaster, RTS, has confirmed that Serbia will take part in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
More information about Serbia’s National Final to be revealed in due course
Serbia’s participation for the 68th edition of the competition was reported by OGAE Serbia, with RTS set to use a national final to select its 16th representative for the competition.
In 2022, Serbia announced a new selection format – entitled Pesma za Evroviziju, diverging from the traditional selection show – Beovizija, with the show returning once again this year. Twenty-four artists took part in the selection, with Luke Black winning after obtaining the most points from the Jury and Televote combined.
Serbia’s Eurovision Journey
In 2007, Serbia made its debut as an independent country, having previously participated as part of Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro. There, they were represented by Marija Šerifović with “Molitva”, which managed to win the competition. Since their debut, Serbia has participated 15 times (12 of which, where they qualified for the Grand Final).
Luke Black represented Serbia at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool with his song “Samo mi se spava”. At this year’s competition, Serbia managed to qualify for the Grand Final, where they placed 24th. At the close of voting, he received 30 points – 14 coming from the jury and 16 from the televote.
