The 2024 edition of Latvian Eurovision selection Supernova is fast approaching, and Jazzi had the chance to sit down with members of Papīra Lidmašīnas for an interview. Papīra Lidmašīnas are competing in Supernova 2024 with their song “Mind breaker”.

About Papīra Lidmašīnas
The band have been releasing music together on streaming services since 2022. Their first ever single was entitled “Piesit Kāju”. Since 2022, the band have gone on to release a further four singles including their Supernova 2024 entry “Mind Breaker”. The band consists of five members which include Rihards Bērziņš (vocals), Reinis Briģis(guitar), Gunārs Toms Narbuts (bass), Edgars Raila (percussion) and Juris Ludženieks.
Latvia’s Eurovision Journey
Latvia made their Eurovision debut in 2000, finishing 3rd with “My Star” by Brainstorm. They have performed at every contest since and managed to win in 2002. Marie N sang “I Wanna,” scoring 176 points and bringing Eurovision to Riga in the process. Latvia also managed to finish in the top 10 two more times, in 2005 and 2015.
Latvia’s most recent entry on the Eurovision stage was Sudden Lights, who performed “Aijā”. The song failed to qualify from the semi-final, finishing 11th with 34 points from the televote.
