🇱🇻 Alekss Silvers: “Be true to yourself”

The 2024 edition of Latvian Eurovision selection Supernova is fast approaching, and Tim had the chance to sit down Alekss Silvers for an interview. Alekss Silvers is competing in Supernova 2024 with his song “For the Show”.

Tim and Alekss talked about their Supernova journey, what the song means, as well as any changes we could expect from their performance on Saturday, as well as what we could expect should they be selected as Latvia’s Eurovision 2024 representative.

About Alekss Silvers

Alekss Silvers is no stranger to the Latvian national final Supernova, having already competed in 2019 with “Firework” and in 2020 with “Again. Since supernova 2020 Alekss has gone on to release a few singles. Alekss told us that after Supernova he plans to release his first album.

Latvia’s Eurovision Journey

Latvia made their Eurovision debut in 2000, finishing 3rd with “My Star” by Brainstorm. They have performed at every contest since and managed to win in 2002. Marie N sang “I Wanna,” scoring 176 points and bringing Eurovision to Riga in the process. Latvia also managed to finish in the top 10 two more times, in 2005 and 2015.

Latvia’s most recent entry on the Eurovision stage was Sudden Lights, who performed “Aijā”. The song failed to qualify from the semi-final, finishing 11th with 34 points from the televote.
