TALI’s first rehearsal

The next to take to the Eurovision 2024 stage at Malmö Arena in Malmö was Luxembourg’s TALI. TALI will be competing in this year’s competition with her entry “Fighter” following her victory at the Luxembourg Song Contest.

Following Tali’s first rehearsal a clip of what went on was posted on the official TikTok account of the Eurovision Song Contest. The clip showed her before and after she took to the Eurovision stage for the first time, as well as giving us some insight into how well her first rehearsal went.

Once the official Eurovision TikTok has been uploaded, you can watch it here.

What did we learn about Tali’s staging?

The vibe of the staging looks to be different from her Luxembourg Song Contest performance. She’s changed into a black bodysuit whereas her dancers are in a more colourful getup. There is a lot of pyro, and they’ve clearly taken inspiration from the stage as there are cubes behind them to frame Tali and her dancers nicely. You can tell Luxembourg are going for a big finish in Semi-Final One.

What we thought of Tali’s first rehearsal

After Luxembourg’s first rehearsal, Jazzi gave her initial thoughts on the snippet that we saw.

As soon as our reaction to the first rehearsal is up, you can watch it here.

Who is TALI

Tali Golergant is a 23 year old Israeli-born Luxembourgish singer-songwriter with a music career stretching back to 2020. Since her first release, ‘Temporary’, she has released 9 singles.

In addition to her pop career Tali has also put her vocal talents to use on the musical theatre stage. At 19 she moved to New York to get her foothold in the career, and has performed in musicals such as Les Miserables and Fiddler On The Roof.

Her 2024 Eurovision entry ‘Fighter’ was penned by a team including Dario Faini, Silvio Lisbonne, Manon Romiti, and Ana Zimmer. She won the right to represent Luxembourg following her narrow win at the innaugral Luxembourg Song Contest, and will be the country’s first entrant since 1993.

Luxembourg’s Eurovision Journey

Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 37 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively.

Luxembourg last took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, when Modern Times represented the nation with the song “Donne-moi une chance”. At the close of voting, Luxembourg finished 20th in a field of 25 with 11 points. Following this participation, Luxembourg withdrew from the Contest, but is returning to the Contest in time for 2024.
