According to Sanremonews.it, the next edition of Sanremo will take place between the 4th of 8th of February 2025.

What we know about Sanremo 2025

This is the latest piece of news about Sanremo 2025. Following Amadeus’ decision to step away after the 2024 contest, RAI announced that Carlo Conti would return to Sanremo as its new artist director. Conti then revealed his first changes to the festival’s format, including the separation of Sanremo Giovani from the main festival and a reduction in the number of performing acts. As of the time of writing, RAI has yet to confirm its participation at Eurovision 2025. This means that for now, announcements about Sanremo 2025 are not necessarily confirmation of participation.

Italy’s Eurovision History

Italy has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since the very beginning. It has always been considered a powerhouse in the contest. The country has won the contest on three occasions in 1964, 1990 and 2021. Italy withdrew after 1997, returning again in 2011 with Raphael Gualazzi who sang ‘Madness Of Love’. Raphael placed second in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest after scoring 189 points.

Italy’s most recent entry in 2024 was “La Noia” by Angelina Mango. At the close of voting, Italy scored a total of 268 points in the Eurovision 2024 Grand Final, placing 7th. Of these, 164 points came from the juries, whilst the remaining 104 points came from the televote.
