With the deadline of when broadcasters can apply to participate in Eurovision 2025, more countries are being confirmed to join the party in Basel, with Greece being the next country to be confirmed.
Selection method to be confirmed
Sources close to Eurovision Fun have revealed that ERT has submitted the relevant form to the EBU to participate in Eurovision 2025. The broadcaster has yet to announce the method of how it will be selecting Marina Satti’s successor.
The broadcaster is currently going through a change in administration, with the process set to be completed by September 18. Once this is completed, a decision on how it will be selecting its Eurovision 2025 representative is set to be made.
Greece’s Eurovision Journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Marina Satti with the song “Zari”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 11th place in the Grand Final in Malmö. She earned a total of 126 points, of which 41 were from the national juries and 85 were from the televoters.
