Marina Satti performing ZARI for Greece at the Grand Final at Malmö Arena

Greek broadcaster ERT announced that they will hold a national final to select the Eurovision 2025 representative for Greece.

ERT’s preparations so far

After confirming their participation last week, this is the first step towards the selection of Greece’s Eurovision 2025 representative. ERT made the announcement with three key details. First, the national final has an open call to anyone interested in submitting a song for Eurovision 2025. Secondly, the national final will be held as a televised programme where various artists compete to represent Greece in Basel. Lastly, the audience will have a say in the final result, “likely” in combination with a jury. More details will be revealed about the national final at a later date.

Greece’s Eurovision History

In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.

Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Marina Satti with the song “Zari”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 11th place in the Grand Final in Malmö. She earned a total of 126 points, of which 41 were from the national juries and 85 were from the televoters.
