🇵🇹 Victoria Nicole’s Junior Eurovision 2024 entry “Esperança” released

In the lead-up to Junior Eurovison 2024, more countries are releasing their entry for this year’s contest, and this time it’s Portugal’s turn as Victoria Nicole’s entry “Esperança” was released released

About “Esperança”

In September, it was revealed that she would sing “Esperança” at the contest, a song written by Nininho Vaz Maia, Bárbara Tinoco and Victoria herself. The premiere of the video took place on the official Junior Eurovision 2024 channel, which you can watch below:

Portugal’s Junior Eurovision Journey

Portugal first took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, with Pedro Madeira singing his song “Deixa-me sentir”. At the close of voting, Portugal finished 14th in a field of 15 participants with a total of 22 points. Portugal participated once more in 2007, before taking a 10 year break and returning to the Contest in 2017. Since then, Portugal has participated a total of eight times.

Portugal’s most recent participation came in 2023 when Júlia Machado represented the nation in Nice with the song “Where I Belong”. At the end of the show, Portugal finished in 13th place with 75 points. 45 of Portugal’s points came from the online vote, whilst the remaining 30 came from professional juries.
