Junior Eurovision in Madrid is less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Junior Eurovision 2024 journey so far. Next up, we will preview Spain’s Chloe DelaRosa.
Chloe DelaRosa’s Junior Eurovision Journey So Far
Chloe DelaRosa was internally selected to represent this year’s host country Spain back in July. She beat out an impressive number of contestants: 290 singers applied to represent Spain this year, more than double the applications received in 2023 and the most applications ever to represent Spain at Junior Eurovision. Her song Como la Lola was released on October 7th and pays tribute to DelaRosa’s musical inspirations: Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and most of all flamenco icon Lola Flores. DelaRosa herself participated in writing her entry.

Who is Chloe DelaRosa?
Nine-year-old social media star Chloe DelaRosa describes herself as a “cantista”, a portmanteau of the Spanish words for “singer” and “artist”. She’s been performing since the age of three and started recording at age five during the 2020 Covid lockdowns. DelaRosa made a name for herself by covering famous Spanish and Latin American musicians, who then shared the videos to their own platforms; she now boasts over 18,000 social media followers and has performed onstage at Spanish music festivals.
Spain’s Junior Eurovision Journey
Spain has taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a total of 9 times, with their first participation coming in the first edition of the Contest in 2003. In the initial Contest, Spain was represented by Sergio singing “Desde el cielo”, and at the close of voting Spain finished in second place, earning 125 points. Spain would go on to win the next edition of the show with María Isabel’s “Antes Muerte Que Sencilla”, finishing with 171 points.
Spain’s most recent participation was in 2023, when Sandra Valera represented the nation with her song “LOVIU” in Nice. At the close of voting, Spain finished 2nd in a field of 16 participants. Spain earned 201 points – 86 of which came from the online vote. The remaining 116 points were awarded by professional juries across Europe.
