๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฒ Idols SM: “We would love to be able to enjoy the whole adventure”

Preparations for Junior Eurovision 2024 in Madrid are in full swing. Ahead of their participation, San Marino’s Idols SM answered some of That Eurovision Site’s questions. Idols SM will be representing San Marino in Junior Eurovision with their entry “Come Noi”.

Weโ€™ll start this interview by getting to know you more. Can you tell us any hobbies you have outside of signing?

We love chatting with friends, shopping around and enjoy friends’ company.

Weโ€™re here because of Music. I wanted to ask you how you got into music and who your musical inspirations are.

We’re all inspired by K-Pop and Stray Kids! They’re our heroes.
Asia: I take piano lessons;
Giulia: I take dancing lessons;
Vera: I have been singing since some years now and already took part in singing contests;
Giorgia: I took violin lessons but always loved pop music!

The first question I will ask about Junior Eurovision is your entry “Come Noi”, can you tell us in your own words, what the song is about, the process of creating your song, and what message you would like to send with your entry.

The song written by Miodio is about friendship. We are members of a very little community, the republic of San Marino, and in our country is not difficult being friends to each other. So I think that our friendship has somehow inspired Miodio.

You also filmed a music video for your entry, what was the experience like to film it?

Amazing! Apart form the Sunday early wake! We shot it in just one day and in the end we were really tired but so happy! The last take was in a burger house so when everything was finished, we already were in the right place where to enjoy a well deserved dinner.

What are you looking forward to, as you head to Madrid for Junior Eurovision?

We would love to be able to enjoy the whole adventure as we did till now.

You will be participating in this yearโ€™s competition as a girl group, what is the one thing you have enjoyed about working together?

We enjoyed spending time together, doing things, getting ready for the contest, in one word making our friendship stronger.

Weโ€™re here because we love Eurovision, do you have a favorite Eurovision entry?

We love Cyprus and Spain!

My last question for you, when you get on the Junior Eurovision stage next month, what message would you like to send to the viewers as they see you perform on stage?

Please love us as we are!

We would like to thank the Sammarinese delegation for their answers and wish Idols SM the best of luck this Saturday.

Who are Idols SM?

Asia Ceccoli, Giulia Rinaldi, Giorgia De Scisciolo and Vera Stefania Olkhovskaya are Idols SM, the girl group representing San Marino this year. All the girls are between 11 and 12 years old. They all have different performing backgrounds and interests: Giulia has trained in several different dance disciplines, Vera Stefania loves hip hop and K-pop, Asia aspires to become a professional singer, and Giorgia wants to be an astronomer someday.

After a hiatus since 2015, San Marino announced their return to Junior Eurovision in early September of this year. SMRTV revealed Idols SM as their participants at the children’s charity event Sogna Ragazzo Sogna, where the girls performed “Come Noi” and another potential song, “Poesia”. The jury ultimately selected “Come Noi”, which was written by former Sammarinese Eurovision contestant Miodio. This will be San Marino’s fourth-ever Junior Eurovision entry.

San Marino’s Junior Eurovision Journey

San Marino made its debut to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with Michele Perniola and his entry “O-o-O Sole intorno a me” which placed 10th. San Marino participated two more times, with their last attempt in 2015 with Kamilla Ismailova and her song “Mirror” placing 14th. They then took a nine-year hiatus before returning in 2024.
