Not long now until Ukraine selects its Eurovision 2025 representative. Ahead of next year’s show, the voting for the jurors that will help select Ukraine’s representative for Basel opens.
Voting is open until December 23
The voting will be open for Ukrainians on the Diya app and will be open until December 23. Further information about voting can be found right here. The three candidates with the highest votes will be selected to be part of the jury.
Suspilne has put forward the following candidates to be in the jury for Vidbir 2025, and they are:
- Andriy Hutsulyak – 1/2 of TVORCHI, who represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2023.
- Jamala – Eurovision 2016 winner.
- Dmitry Zezyulin – Leader, vocalist, and songwriter of the indie pop band LATEXFAUNA. The band won the YUNA Award in the Best Pop Band category.
- Kateryna Pavlenko – Vocalist of GO_A, Ukraine’s Eurovision 2020/21 representative.
- Oleg Psyuk – Vocalist of Eurovision 2022 winner, Kalush Orchestra.
- Anna Svyrydova – 26 years in the media – TV and radio presenter, program director of radio “Pyatnytsia”, host of the YouTube project “MuzRoom”.
- Sergiy Tanchynets – Singer, musician, producer, and leader of the rock band WITHOUT LIMITS. Honored Artist of Ukraine, multiple nominees and winner of the YUNA, Golden Firebird, M1 Music Awards, and jury member of Vidbir 2024.
- Katya Tsaryk – Film director, music awards and show production director, screenwriter, music video maker. Awarded the Order of Merit, 3rd degree.
- Sasha Chemerov – Musician, singer, songwriter, producer and poet. Co-founder and music producer of “Cultural Landing”.
- Dmitry Shurov – Songwriter, rock pianist, film composer, producer. Music producer of the National Selection for Eurovision 2022 and 2023.
Ukraine’s Eurovision journey
Ukraine is one of the most successful countries to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The country has scored nine top-five placements, with an extra four top-ten finishes. Ukraine won the Contest three times – in 2004, 2016 and 2022 respectively. Ukraine made history for being the first ex-Soviet country to win the Contest more than once.
In 2024, alyona alyona and Jerry Heil represented Ukraine in Malmö with their song “Teresa and Maria”. The duo finished in 3rd place, scoring 453 points – of which 146 points came from the jury, whilst the remaining 307 points came from the televote.
