🇫🇷 Louane to represent France at Eurovision 2025

After reports from French media today, it has now been officially confirmed by France Télévisions that Louane will represent France at Eurovision 2025.

Louane’s participation in France was announced by the French broadcaster via its social media, where we saw a montage showing memories of Louane growing up, and dedicating her participation to her mother who died of illness in 2014.

Further information about Louane’s entry for Eurovision 2025 will be revealed in due course.

France’s Eurovision Journey

France is a powerhouse in Eurovision, debuting in the first Contest in 1956. Their first entries finished in second place, but no scores were ever published. Since then, France has gone on to win the Contest five times. The most recent win came in 1977, with Marie Myriam’s “L’oiseau et l’enfant”, scoring 136 points.France has seen a rebirth in results following a change in direction in 2016. Amir finished in 6th position for France with “J’ai cherché”, followed by 12th, 13th and 16th places respectively.

For 2024, France continued to choose internally, they chose Slimane with his song “Mon amour”. At the close of voting in Malmö, France finished in 4th place, earning 445 points. 218 came from the jury, while 227 came from the televote.
