San Marino has become the first country to formally announce its intention to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 after france rejecting hosting the event.

At a press conference outlining the broadcasterโs plans for 2026, Director General Roberto Sergio said:
โIt was a thrilling success to see San Marino in the โleft-hand sideโ of the rankings for the first time with a prestigious ninth place. Martina was the third most voted for by the public, a result that encourages us to officially apply to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.โ
San Marino’s Junior Eurovision journey
San Marino made its debut to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with Michele Perniola and his entry “O-o-O Sole intorno a me” which placed 10th. San Marino participated two more times, with their recent attempt in 2015 with Kamilla Ismailova and her song “Mirror” which placed 14th and received 36 points overall. They then took a nine-year hiatus before returning in 2024.
Martina CRV represented San Marino for their 2025 apperance to the contest. Her song “Beyond the Stars” archieved san marino’s best place ever in Junior Eurovision, coming 9th overall. She got 87 points from online voting and 38 from juries.
