ERT has unveiled the hosting team for Sing for Greece! The three hosts are Giorgos Kapoutzidis, Bessy Maggira, and Katerina Vrana setting to guide the viewers on 11, 13 and 15 February!

Meet the hosts

  • Giorgos Kapoutzidis is a well-known Greek television personality, actor, screenwriter and presenter, familiar to audiences for his charismatic style and strong connection with entertainment shows. He has also been the Greek commentator of last year’s competition.
  • Bety Maggira brings theatrical flair and hosting experience, having previously been involved in major television productions and live events. She has also been the presenter of the Greek national final in 2008.
  • Katerina Vrana adds comedy and personality to the trio, known for her engaging rapport with audiences.

Together, this hosting lineup combines humour, stage presence and entertainment expertise, which will present the semi-finals on 11th and 13th February and the final on 15th February.

Songs’ reveal

During the latest episode of EurovisionGR, it was announced that instead of dropping all entries at once, ERT plans a two-day rollout:

  • On January 17, the first batch of Sing for Greece songs will be published on ERT’s official digital platforms and YouTube.
  • On January 18, the remaining songs will follow.

Last week, the competing acts were announced in a special episode. In total, 264 entries were submitted to ERT to compete to represent Greece. These have been narrowed down to 28 songs that will compete in Sing for Greece; Fourteen songs will qualify from the semi-finals to compete in the final itself.

Greece’s Eurovision journey

In 1974, Greece made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then, they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.

Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Klavdia with the song “Asteromáta”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 6th place. She earned a total of 231 points, of which 105 were from the national juries and 126 were from the televoters.
