Giorgia and Annalisa, winners of the Sanremo 2025 Cover Night

Carlo Conti has revealed the full line-up for the Cover Night of the Festival di Sanremo 2026, announcing the duets live during today’s TG1 lunchtime edition. The traditional covers evening will take place on Friday 27 February, during the fourth night of the Festival, and will see all competing artists joined by special guests to reinterpret iconic Italian and international songs.

The Sanremo 2026 duets

The Cover Night will feature Fabrizio Moro, who represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 and finished fifth and Las Ketchup, Spain’s representatives at Eurovision in 2006. Eurovision links continue behind the scenes too, with Dardust involved after co-writing Italy’s ‘Soldi’ (2019) and ‘La noia‘ (2024), as well as Luxembourg’s ‘Fighter’ in 2024.

Meanwhile, Stadio, winners of Festival di Sanremo 2016, will also appear, having declined the opportunity to represent Italy at Eurovision that year. Gaia, Joan Thiele and Brunori Sas are set to return as well, following their participation in last year’s Festival.

How the Cover Night works

As in the previous edition, the results of the Cover Night will not affect the overall ranking of Sanremo 2026. A standalone prize will be awarded to the best performance of the evening, but no points will carry over into the final result of the Festival.

Voting will be split between:

  • 33% press jury (TV, web and print media)
  • 33% radio jury
  • 34% televote

The Festival di Sanremo 2026 will take place from 24 to 28 February at the Teatro Ariston, and will be broadcast live on Rai 1 and RaiPlay.

Italy’s Eurovision journey

Italy has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since the very beginning and have always been considered a powerhouse in the contest. The country has won the contest on three occasions in 1964, 1990 and 2021. Italy withdrew after 1997, returning again in 2011 with Raphael Gualazzi who sang ‘Madness Of Love’. Raphael placed second in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest after scoring 189 points.

Italy’s most recent entry in 2025 was “Volevo essere un duro” by Lucio Corsi. At the close of voting, Italy scored a total of 256 points in the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final, placing 5th. Of these, 159 points came from the juries, whilst the remaining 97 points came from the televote.
