🇸🇪 Timo Räisänen: “It now feels the right time for me”

Ahead of his participation in Melodifestivalen 2026, Sweden’s selection for Eurovision 2026, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Timo Räisänen, who is making his debut in this year’s competition with his entry “Ingenting Är Efter Oss”

During their interview, Tim and Timo Räisänen talked about his journey as an artist, what we can expect from his staging later this week, as well as talking about his reasoning for participaitng in Mello this year.

Who is Timo Räisänen

Timo Räisänen has been a familiar name with Swedish audiences for more than twenty years. Known for his distinctive falsetto as a member of the choir at Gothenburg Cathedral and began his professional journey as a guitarist and producer for Håkan Hellström.

His solo career took off with the album “Lovers Are Lonely”, followed by his breakthrough with the song “Fear No Darkness, Promised Child.” With nine solo albums and hundreds of live performances to his name, he has become a well-established and experienced performer. On stage, he blends humor with sincerity, offering audiences a mix of laughter, high energy, and thoughtful moments.

Timo Räisänen will be making his debut in Melodifestivalen this year with his entry “Ingenting Är Efter Oss”, which was co-written by Timo alongside Andreas ”Giri” Lindbergh, Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt, Joy Deb, Lina Räisänen, and Linnea Deb.

Sweden’s Eurovision journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
