Ahead of her participation in Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2026 this weekend, Nicklas spoke to Silke who is participating with her song “‘Forevermore”.

In the interview Nicklas and Silke talk about her previous involvement in MGP as the female vocal on 2023 entry “Ekko Inni Meg”, her love for the contest and what she hopes to achieve with her participation this year. We also get a quick visit from the songs producer Audun, who has also produced plenty of other national final favourites in the past.
Who is Silke?
Silke is a singer and songwriter from Kragerø in Norway. Her passion for music began at a young age and she has a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Agder. MGP fans became familiar with Silke in 2023 when she provided the female vocals for JONE’s “Ekko Inni Meg” which came 5th in the final. This year, Silke is stepping into the spotlight with the song “Forevermore” – a song that she has written and produced herself, together with Hannah Theuma, Patrik Jean & Audun Agnar.
Norway’s Eurovision journey
The Scandinavian nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, with Nora Brockstedt and the song “Voi Voi”, which placed 4th. Since their debut, they have participated 62 times, and made the Grand Final 59 of these. In addition, Norway has won the competition three times – in 1985, 1995, and 2009.
Norway’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Kyle Alessandro with the song “Lighter”. After qualifying for the final, Norway placed 18th in the Grand Final, receiving 89 points, 22 of which from the jury and 67 from televoters.
