Albania’s Eurovision 2026 representative Alis has shared new details about his upcoming performance in Vienna, revealing that it will be significantly different from what was seen at Festivali i Këngës.
A different performance in Vienna
Speaking to Albanian broadcaster RTSH, the singer discussed preparations for Eurovision and the strong reaction to his entry “Nân.” He expressed gratitude for the emotional responses he has received from listeners, describing the messages as overwhelming.
Looking ahead to the Eurovision stage, Alis confirmed that the staging concept has been completely reworked compared to the national final performance. He also hinted at the inclusion of new artistic elements, suggesting a more developed and visually engaging presentation in Vienna. When asked whether his mother could appear on stage, a key figure in both the song’s theme and its music video, Alis kept things open:
“It depends”
Albania’s Eurovision journey
In 2004, Albania made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 20 times and made the final 10 times. They achieved their best result in 2012, where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.
Shkodra Elektronike represented Albania in the 2025 Contest in Basel with “Zjerm”. The duo made it to the Grand Final, where they ultimately finished in 8th place with 218 points. 173 of these came from the televote, while the remaining 45 points came from the jury.
