🇨🇭 Veronica Fusaro gives details on Eurovision 2026 performance

Veronica Fusaro

Switzerland’s Eurovision 2026 representative, Veronica Fusaro, has stated that she prefers to focus on her performance rather than outside expectations, saying she is not paying attention to how her chances are being evaluated.

About her performance

Fusaro emphasised that her priority is to deliver a strong and authentic performance on stage, rather than getting distracted by rankings or speculation surrounding the contest. Her approach reflects a mindset of staying grounded and artist-focused, despite the intense scrutiny that often comes with Eurovision participation. She confirmed:

“At Eurovision, we’re going to fill the stage one or another… And there will, of course, be guitar.”

She will be working with Fredrik “Benke” Rydman, who has directed Nemo’s winning performance.

Ignoring the pressure

When asked about predictions, Fusaro responded that she simply does not care about them, highlighting that external opinions will not influence her preparation for Eurovision 2026. This attitude suggests a confident and self-assured approach as she prepares to represent Switzerland on the international stage. She said:

I watched it once, then decided I didn’t care, because ultimately it doesn’t matter. It’s still very early days, and the performance will determine whether the audience connects with it or not. I’m just going to stay focused on what I’m doing.

Switzerland’s Eurovision journey

Switzerland both hosted and debuted in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Their first participation was successful, as they won with Lys Assia’s “Refrain”. Since then, they have participated on 63 occasions, making the Grand Final 52 times.

Switzerland’s most recent participation saw them being represented on home soil by Zoë Më with her song “Voyage”. At the end of voting in the final, it was revealed Switzerland had earned 214 points from the juries, and receiving nothing from televoters. This ultimately placed Switzerland 10th in the final.
