Eurovision in Vienna is just less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2026 journey so far. The next artist in this year’s preview is Greece’s Akylas.
Akylas’ Eurovision Journey So Far
Akylas won the right to represent Greece via Sing for Greece. He won his semi final, and ultimately won both the televote and jury vote in the final. He will perform fourth in the first semi final.
Akylas’ song for Eurovision 2026 – “Ferto” – His song for Eurovision 2026 – “Ferto” – was written by Akylas himself, Orfaes Nonis, Thomas Papathanasis and Theofilos Pouzbouris, who represented Greece in 2014 as part of Freaky Fortune.

Who is Akylas?
Akylas Mytilinaios is a 27-year-old singer-songwriter born in the northern town of Serres. A keen musician, Akylas studied music from a young age, going to music school and taking theatre classes. He also dabbled in the world of food and even sang on cruise ships before his career in singing took off on TikTok in 2021. He also took part in The Voice of Greece in 2022, where he ultimately placed eighth.
Greece’s Eurovision Journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Klavdia with the song “Asteromáta”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 6th place. She earned a total of 231 points, of which 105 were from the national juries and 126 were from the televoters.
