Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2026 representative will once again take her place as a coach on the country’s biggest talent show.
A familiar face in the red chair
Broadcaster bTV has announced that DARA will return as one of the four coaches for the upcoming season, continuing her long-standing association with the show. Her return comes as little surprise, as she has become one of the programme’s defining figures, closely linked to its continued success and strong viewing figures in Bulgaria.
Since joining the panel in 2021, DARA has established herself as one of the most successful coaches on the show. She has already secured two victories, highlighting her ability to identify and develop new talent within the competition. Her continued presence also reflects her influence on the modern Bulgarian pop scene, where she remains one of the country’s most recognisable artists.
Bulgaria’s Eurovision Journey
Bulgaria are a country that really want to win the Eurovision Song Contest, especially since their return in 2016. Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2005 with the song ‘Lorraine’ sung by Kaffe, the song came 19th in the semi final scoring 49 points. Bulgaria’s best ever result came in 2017 with ‘Beautiful Mess’ by Kristian Kostov, the song placed 2nd in the Grand Final that year scoring 615 points.
In 2022, Bulgaria was represented by the Intelligent Music Project in Turin, where they sang the song “Intention”, placing 16th in the Semi-Final with 29 points.
