As the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 gets ever closer, countries continue to confirm whether they will be taking part in the contest in Malta in October. The latest to confirm participation at this yearโs event is Cypriot broadcaster CyBC.
Cyprus opens submissions for Junior Eurovision 2026
Cyprus confirmed their intention to participate in this year’s contest in a press release, inviting interested children aged 9 to 14 to submit their application and supporting documents on their online forms by the 30th June 2026. Junior Eurovision 2026 begins to take shape
The announcement from the Cypriot broadcaster brings the total number of countries having confirmed their Junior Eurovision 2026 participation to 12, you can see the rest of the list below:

Cyprus’ Junior Eurovision journey
Cyprus first took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in its inaugural year of 2003. Theodora Rafti represented Cyprus at the first edition of the Contest, singing “Mia Efhi”, finishing in 14th place. The country’s best position came in both 2004 and 2006, when they finished in 8th place. Cyprus would go on to host the 2008 edition of the Contest in Limassol.
Cyprus’ most recent Junior Eurovision participation came in 2025, where Rafaella and Christos represented them in Tbilisi. Their song “Away” finished in 16th place, receiving 3 points from the juries and 47 from the televote.
