Georgia has officially selected their representative for Junior Eurovision 2026. Davit Lomidze will take part in the Contest in Malta in October after winning their selection process.

The grand final of the ninth season of Georgia’s Ranina competition was won by 9-year-old Davit Lomidze. The selection process final saw 3 contestants all perform covers of well known compositions by Revaz Lagidze. Liliana Chachanidze and Zurab Naskidashvili also competed in the final alongside Davit Lomidze, with a panel of jurors made up of Nato Metonidze, Davit Tsintsadze and Sopho Khalvashi selecting Lomidze the winner, although the detailed points of the top three were not shared publicly.

The trophy was presented to Davit by last year’s winner and Georgian Junior Eurovision 2025 entrant Anita Abgariani, who placed third in the Junior Song Contest held in Tbilisi in 2025 with the song “Shine Like A Star”.

The song that Davit will perform in Malta this October has not been announced yet, but preparations are underway for Georgia’s entry and will be revealed by GPB at a later date.

Georgia’s Junior Eurovision journey

Georgia is the most successful country to take part in Junior Eurovision, currently with four wins under their belt. The country joined the Junior Eurovision family in 2007 with Mariam Romelashvili singing “Odelia Ranuni”, finishing in 4th place. Georgia then won the competition the following year, with Bzikebi’s “Bzzโ€ฆ”. Georgia also won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 and 2016 respectively. They hosted the Contest in Tbilisi in 2017.

In 2025, Georgia was represented by Anita Abgariani on home soil in Tbilisi with her song “Shine Like a Star”. At the close of voting, Georgia would finish in third place with a total of 176 points. From these, a total of 121 points came from the jury, whilst the remaining 55 points came from the online vote.
