Previous national final artists
🇵🇹 Diogo Piçarra – “Maré”
Festival da Canção 2018 saw Diogo Piçarra withdraw just days before the final after being a strong contender for the win for much of the early national final season in 2018. But the Portuguese artist has released a heap of tracks over the years, most recently “Maré”. His most recent single sees him team up with Danni Gato to bring us an afro-house summer banger.
🇸🇪 Dotter – “Mr. Radio Beat”
🇫🇮 Isaac Sene – “Cocaine”
Isaac Sene may have only placed 5th in Finland’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu in 2022 with “Kuuma jäbä, but the Finnish singer has amassed a cult following in the Nordics. “Cocaine” is a smooth, dancey, R&B bop that could easily find its way into any get-ready pre-drinks playlists!
🇩🇰 JONE – “CAT 372”
Melodi Grand Prix alum JONE has teamed up with country-rock group Crashville on their track “CAT 374”. This won’t be for everyone, and is certainly a more mature feel compared to some of the singer’s other work, but there’s definitely a fanbase out there somewhere for this.
🇸🇪 Lia Larsson – “Svealand”
Sweden’s Lia Larsson releases her new single “Svealand”, and just like her 2024 Melodifestivalen entry “30 km/h”, the track is schlager meets gay club dance floor meets bubblegum pop. Whether you like this kind of thing or not, I dare you to listen to this without moving your feet! It’s infectious and joyful and gives exactly what you want Lia Larsson to give.
🇪🇸 MARLENA – “Nadie Se Muere De Amor”
Spanish pop duo MARLENA only debuted in 2019, but have solidified themselves on the Spannish music scene in recent years. The 2024 Benidormfest semi-finalists release new single “Nadie Se Muere De Amor”, a sound that can only be describes as a perfect song for a long car ride in Spain. With elements of country and Spanish pop, this is pure summer.
