After returning to Melodifestivalen earlier this year, as well as having two anniversary concerts celebrating her 30th year in the music industry, Sanna Nielsen releases her new single “Heaven Is A Place On Earth”
A meaningful release for Sanna
Sanna’s latest release is her own interpretation of Belinda Carlisle’s song. The song, which was released in 1987 was one of her most listened to tracks when she was a child, paving the way for her to chase her dream:
I am celebrating my thirtieth anniversary as an artist this year and look back on so many wonderful memories and experiences. Getting to do my version of “Heaven is a Place on Earth” is a look back at my entire upbringing and the start of my interest in music. It was the song I always put on play when I stood in my pink girl’s room in front of the mirror and imitated the English language as best I could. I was overjoyed when the song came out on the MR Music albums and also had a singback version of it so I could sing it to just the music. Now I have my own version, a few decades later and the little girl in me couldn’t be happier to take the song out of the pink girl’s room to other beautiful stages around the country,

Sanna Nielsen’s Eurovision Journey
Before she participated in Melodifestivalen earlier this year, Sanna Nielsen had participated in seven occasions (2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011, and 2014). It was on her seventh participation in 2014 that she won the competition with “Undo” and represented Sweden in Copenhagen, where she managed to bring Sweden to the final, where she placed 3rd.
In 2026, a year after being inducted into Melodifestivalen’s Hall of Fame, Sanna Nielsen returned to Melodifestivalen once again, where she made the final for the eighth time. She placed 10th, after receiving 33 points from the International Jury and Public Vote.
