UK Junior Eurovision 2022 participant Freya Skye has released a new single. The “Lose My Head” singer has this week released her latest song, “bad taste”.
About “bad taste”
Freya Skye has released her latest single “bad taste”. The song is an uptempo indie-pop record, with an incredibly catchy chorus. The new release is accompanied by a music video, seeing Freya cause chaos in a diner as well as riding in the passenger seat of a car on the highway. The musicality and messaging of the song is reminiscent of recent releases from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Zara Larsson, yet Freya still makes the song her own.
The lyrics of the chorus read:

The new single was written by Freya herself, alongside Andre Davidson, Sean Davidson, Annie Schindel and Bill Maybury. Freya will be embarking on a solo world tour between September 2026 and February 2027. So far, dates across much America, as well as all dates for the UK and the rest of Europe have sold out. Who is Freya Skye?
16 year old singer and actress Freya Skye was born in Buckinghamshire, England in 2009. The young star first rose to prominence during the Covid-19 lockdowns, releasing singing videos with her father online. In recent years, Freya has worked as a voice actor on video games including Final Fantasy XVI. In 2024, she appeared in the ninth season of the Canadian mockumentary series The Next Step, playing an exaggerated version of herself. She has appeared on various Disney Channel shows, including the 2025 Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. The singer and actor has also released a string of singles and an EP in recent years. Freya will reprise her role of Nova Bright in Zombies 5: Secrets of the Sea, in 2027.
Freya Skye’s Junior Eurovision journey
In 2022 the United Kingdom returned to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after a 17 year absence. The country was represented by Freya Skye with her song “Lose My Head”. In Yerevan, Freya scored 146 points, placing her 5th. Freya recieved 66 points from the professional juries, and 80 from the online voting – which was the most a country received in 2022 from online voters.
