Maltese broadcaster PBS has officially released the song “Blue Bird” to be performed by 11-year-old Beppe at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Ta’ Qali.
About “Blue Bird”
The song is a sweet and cheerful pop track that fits perfectly the spirit of Junior Eurovision. The lyrics, which are entirely in English, talk about finding magic in the simplest things, a deep connection with nature, and the importance of listening to one’s heart.
Beppe was selected after winning the third edition of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’, earning him the honour to represent his country on home soil.
Junior Eurovision 2026 continues to take shape
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is due to take place at 21.00 CEST, on Saturday 24 October, live from the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. Malta’s broadcaster PBS are hosting the contest for the third time, having done so previously in 2014 and 2016.

Malta’s Junior Eurovision journey
Malta participated in the inaugural edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with Sarah Harrison and the song “Like A Star”, which placed 7th. The country participated until 2010, when it took a break and returned in 2013 with Gaia Cauchi and “The Start”, which was their first win in the competition. It wasn’t long until they achieved their second win in 2015, where Destiny Chukunyere won with her song “Not My Soul”. Destiny went on to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with “Je Me Casse”, where she placed seventh.
Eliza Borg represented Malta in 2025 with the song “I Believe”, placing 11th and receiving 153 points, 54 of which from the jury and 38 from the online vote.
