🇨🇭 Luca Hänni releases new single “Wildfire”

Swiss Eurovision representative Luca Hänni has released his latest single. The “She Got Me” singer, who represented Switzerland in 2019, has this week released “Wildfire”.

About “Wildfire”

Swiss Eurovision 2019 Luca Hänni representative is back with a new single. Following the release of singles “Vertigo” and “Different Life”, Luca has this week released “Wildfire”. The song, and accompanying music video, is dark, moody and suspenseful. The chorus is incredibly catchy and hard to forget.

The new single is in the English language, and sees Luca deliver a dark-pop performance. The track has elements of rock and indie influences, with big choir-style layered backing vocals in the chorus creating a huge sound. The lyrics of the song read like a lovesong, but the delivery of them from Luca feels almost desperate and incredibly immense.

The song was written by Luca himself, with co-writing and co-production from Kristofer Strandberg and Andreas Werling. The new single is released along side recent tracks “Different Life” and “Vertigo”. Luca is due to serve as ‘Greatest Showmaster’ at Das Winter Varieté NOCK in Zofingen latest this year. Tickets and information can be found on his website.

Luca Hänni is a Swiss singer and television personality, born in 1994. He first rose to prominence in 2012 after winning the ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the Germany version of the Idol TV show. He was the first non-German to do so, and the youngest ever winner of the show. In August 2012, he opened the auditions for the tenth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar in his home city of Bern, for which he was also seen in the advertising campaign. In 2017, he appeared as a contestant on the second season of the RTL competitive dancing talent show Dance Dance Dance, partnered with fellow Deutschland sucht den Superstar winner Prince Damien.

Luca’s Eurovision journey

The first time Luca appeared at a Eurovision Grand Final was as a jury spokesperson, delivering the Swiss points at the 2017 Contest in Kyiv. Two years later, for the 2019 Contest in Tel Aviv, Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR internally selected Luca to represent the country. He would perform his up-tempo, dance-pop song “She Got Me” at the 2019 Song Contest.

Luca performed “She Got Me” in the second of the Semi-Finals in Tel Aviv, qualifying for the Saturday Grand Final. At the close of voting in the Final, Luca placed fifth with the public televote and seventh with international juries, with “She Got Me” coming in fourth overall. The song was awarded 364 points. Of these, 152 came from the jury vote, whilst 212 were awarded by the public televote. This marked Switzerland’s best result at the Contest since 1993, until Nemo’s win in 2024.

After Nemo won Eurovision in 2024, the Swiss city of Basel was selected to host the 2025 edition of the Contest. During the Grand Final, a ‘Swiss Eurovision Legacy’ interval act was performed, with a number of iconic Swiss acts taking to the stage. Luca returned to the Eurovision stage to give a high-energy performance of “She Got Me” during the performance.
