Dutch Government confirm that Eurovision 2021 may have an audience

Today (1st April) it was confirmed that there may be an audience present at Eurovision 2021. It has been confirmed that everyone that attends a show would have to provide a negative test Covid test result. Capacity at the jury, family and live shows would be at 3,500 and this goes for the first and second semi finals as well as the final.

While this is the plan for now, it must be stressed that any changes can be made up until April. The situation with the coronavirus around the world and in The Netherlands is ever changing.

Executive Supervision of the Eurovision Song Contest, Martin Österdahl has stated

“We welcome this decision by the Dutch government and the possibility that we can invite fans to join us as we bring the Eurovision Song Contest back in May”

It has already been confirmed that delegations travelling to Rotterdam will have follow strict protocols and would not come into contact with potential audience members. As ever safety remains hr number one priority at this years Eurovision Song Contest
