T-Mobile will refund all customers whose votes we not counted during the Eurovision Grand Final. All T-Mobile customers who didn’t get their votes counted were contacted by the provider and made aware they will be getting a refund in due course.
Made aware of error after voting has closed
A lot of T-Mobile customers were only made aware of the error hours after voting had closed, therefore their votes were not counted during the Grand Final. The European Broadcasting Union later made the Dutch broadcaster NOS aware that some votes were not counted due to the issue with the mobile network.
The EBU made a statement to the broadcaster stating “We are sorry for any disappointment this has caused, but the EBU had no control over itβ. The Dutch televote result will remain valid as this was not an issue in regards to the broadcaster or the EBU. T-Mobile has since apologized to customers for the error. A text was sent to all T-Mobile users in The Netherlands which read:
“Dear customer, You voted by text message during the Eurovision Song Contest last weekend. Some text messages were wrongly not counted. Sorry! You will of course receive a refund from us for the costs for these text messages. The reimbursement is stated on your next invoice. Regards, T-Mobile“
This does not effect any votes in The Netherlands or the final Eurovision result.
