🇵🇱 Roksana Węgiel rules out Eurovision 2022 participation

Poland is currently on the search for its Eurovision 2022 entry and will be taking submissions on November 20. However, one artist that we will not be seeing submitting an entry is Roksana WÄ™giel, who is known for giving Poland a win at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her entry “Anyone I Want To Be”. She has revealed that she was previously approached to represent Poland at Eurovision.

“I am not ready”

As reported by Eurowizja.org, Roksana revealed that at the beginning of the year (when she turned 16) TVP offered her the chance to participate. However, she admitted that she wants to postpone her dream of participating in Eurovision.

I am not ready for an adult Eurovision, I will not hide. I don’t feel it now at this time, so soon. Although who knows, maybe in the future? If I decide to participate at Eurovision, I would have to come out with a very good number.

In the same interview, Roksana also mentioned that she associated Eurovision with ballads and that she would like to participate with a modern song, which would also show off her vocal range.

Roksana’s Junior Eurovision Journey

In 2018, Poland internally selected Roksana WÄ™giel to represent them at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk with the song “Anyone I Want To Be”. Her participation in the competition saw gave Poland its first-ever win at the contest, which saw her receive 215 points from the Jury and the Online Vote.
