🇫🇮 Cyan Kicks release their UMK22 entry “Hurricane”

After the reveal of the competing artists at this year’s UMK, the entries are now starting to be released. The first entry to be released is “Hurricane” by Cyan Kicks.

About Cyan Kicks

The band was founded in 2016, with the band consisting of Susanna Alexandra, Niila Perkkiö, Leevi Erkkilä and Pietari Reijonen. Cyan Kicks has released two studio albums so far, which have been streamed more than 10 million times. The band describes their music as distinctive, modern rock, and combining different styles.

Speaking about their UMK22 entry, the band mentions that it’s a powerful song about overcoming fears and the courage to be yourself.

Finland’s Eurovision Journey

Finland debuted in the 1961 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 10th with Laila Kunnunen’s “Valoa ikkunassa.” Since then, they have competed 54 times, and appeared in the final 46 times. Finland has finished in the top 10 an impressive 13 times. They have won the contest once in 2006, with Lordi’s performance of “Hard Rock Hallelujah” getting 292 points. Finland’s most recent entry was “Dark Side” by Blind Channel. In the Final, they gained a total of 301 points, earning them 6th place.
