🇸🇪 Heat Two results of Melodifestivalen 2022 revealed

Tonight, seven artists competed in the second heat of “Melodifestivalen 2022”. Two acts qualified directly to the final, while two qualified for the semi final. The results were as follows

After the first round of voting, LIAMOO managed to obtained the most votes and qualified directly to the final. After the second round of voting, it was revealed that John Lundvik got the second spot to the final, with Alvaro Estrella and Tone Sekelius through to the Semi-Final. In the second round of voting, points were distributed based on how many votes each act got from each age group.

Melodifestivalen 2022 will continue once again next Saturday, where another seven acts compete. The competing artists are as follows:

What we know about Melodifestivalen 2022

Melodifestivalen 2022 will be hosted by Oscar Zia, whilst Farah Abadi will follow the journey of the competing artists in this edition of the competition. This edition of Melodifestivalen the was supposed to be the return of the tour. Unfortunately, due to the COVID situation in Sweden, the Heats and Semi-Final are due to take place in Avicii Arena. The final of the competition is currently scheduled to take place at Friends Arena as planned.

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).

In 2021, Sweden was represented by Tusse, who won the 60th edition of the competition and competed with the song “Voices”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 14th with 109 points from the jury and televoters.
