The internal selections for the 2022 contest are soon to be revealed. One of the countries to confirm when they will release their entry is Switzerland, as they confirm that their artist and entry will be revealed on March 8.
Continuing on with the Internal Selection
Since 2019, Switzerland has selected their Eurovision representative, via an internal selection, with the help of an audience panel and an expert panel, with some familiar faces in the jury such as PAENDA (Austria 2019), Ovidiu (Romania 2010, 2014), Tinkara KovaΔ (Slovenia 2014).
Switzerland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1956, Switzerland was one of the countries that debuted in the inaugural competition in 1956, where they won with Lys Assia and “Refrain”. Since then they have participated on 61 occasions, with 50 of them making the Grand Final.
Switzerland’s recent participation saw them being represented by Gjon’s Tears with their song “Tout l’Univers”, which saw them qualify for the Grand Final for a second consecutive participation. Overall, Switzerland finished 3rd, after receiving 432 points from the jury and televoters.
