As preparations continue for the final of Melodifestivalen this Saturday, Tim has the chance to chat with Cazzi Opeia to discuss her Melodifestivalen debut, her many tattoos and sending a song into space!
The final of Melodifestivalen will take place on March 12. John will perform fourth in the running order, which can be found here. The results will be decided by a 50/50 split between the televote and international juries. It will take place at the Friends Arena in Stockholm.
About Cazzi Opeia
Cazzi started off her career back in 2010 when she released her first single “I Belong To You”. Since then Cazzi has developed herself into a successful singer and songwriter. She has written songs for a variety of different K-pop groups, including TWICE and BTS. 2022 is Cazzi’s Melodifestivlen debut. She made it to the final through the second chance round.

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).
In 2021, Sweden was represented by Tusse, who won the 60th edition of Melodifestivalen and competed with the song “Voices”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 14th with 109 points from the jury and televoters.
