After confirming their participation in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest last month, Latvia’s broadcaster LTV has confirmed that they will be using their national final ‘Supernova’ to select its representative for 2023.
Submissions for Supernova 2023 are now open!
Submissions for Supernova opened today at 10:00 EET and can be submitted until 23:59EET on December 1. After the submission period, the successful entries would be determined by a Jury selected LTV which will consist of Latvian music industry experts, events and television, as well as foreign professionals
After this period, the participants for Supernova will be revealed on January 2023, with the final of Supernova 2023 due to take place in February 2023. The mechanics of how Latvia’s Eurovision representative will be revealed on January 2023.

Latvia’s Eurovision Journey
Latvia made their Eurovision debut in 2000, finishing 3rd with “My Star” by Brainstorm. They have performed at every contest since and managed to win in 2002. Marie N sang “I Wanna,” scoring 176 points and bringing Eurovision to Riga in the process. Latvia also managed to finish in the top 10 two more times, in 2005 and 2015. Latvia’s most recent entry on the Eurovision stage was Citi Zeni, who performed “Eat Your Salad”. The song failed to qualify from the semi-final, finishing 14th with 55 points.
