With the third semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix only days away, Tim sits down with Atle Pettersen. They are vying to represent Norway at Eurovision 2023 with their song “Masterpiece”.

Tim and Atle talked about the creative process behind “Masterpiece”, what it would mean to them if they get to go to Liverpool this year given their milestone and the fact he used to play Beatles show.
About Atle Pettersen
One of the most versatile entertainers in Norway, Atle Pettersen has dabbled in Music, Hosting; being a host of the Norwegian TV show “Beat for Beat”, as well as Acting by being in musicals such as Singin in The Rain. Atle will be competing in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix with the sign “Masterpiece” which he co-wrote with Andreas Johansson and Hannah Dorothy Bristow.
Norway’s Eurovision Journey
The Scandinavian nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, with Nora Brockstedt and the song “Voi Voi”, which placed 4th. Since their debut, they have participated 60 times, and made the grand final 57 of these. In addition, Norway has won the competition three times (1985, 1995, and 2009).
Norway’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Subwoolfer with the song “Give That Wolf a Banana”. During their participation, Norway placed 10th in the grand final, receiving 182 points from the jury and televoters.
