Ahead of his participation in Melodifestivalen 2023, Tim took the opportunity to speak with Victor Crone who will be participating in this year’s Swedish selection with his entry “Diamonds”

During their interview, Tim and Victor talked about his participation in the competition, the creative process of the song, and how the performance of “Diamonds” will be different from his previous entries in Eurovision and the various national finals he has participated in.
About Victor Crone
Victor Crone is no stranger to Eurovision. In 2019 he competed in the contest with the song Strom, Victor finished 20th in the 2019 contest. After representing Estonia in Eurovision 2019, he returned to Sweden and Melodifestivalen with the song “Troubled Waters”, where he reached the grand final. This year Victor is singing the song “Diamonds which was written by David Lindgren Zacharias, Peter Kvint, as well as having input from Victor himself.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since its debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).
In 2022, Sweden was represented by Cornelia Jakobs, who won the 61st edition of the competition and competed with the song “Hold Me Closer”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 4th with 438 points from the jury and televoters.
