🇸🇪 Melodifestivalen 2023 Heat Three results revealed

Tonight Sweden continued its six-week-long search to select its Eurovision 2023 representative. Tonight’s Heat Three, the third of four heats, took place in Lidköping. Two acts advanced directly to the final, while two more move to the semi-final.

The result of the Heats are 100% televote over 2 rounds. The winner of the first round goes direct to the final of Melodifestivalen. The remaining six acts took part in the second round of voting for another spot in the final or one of two places in the Semi-Final, the remaining 3 acts are now out of the competition.

Heat Three may now be over, but there is still lots of Melfest action to come over the next 3 Saturdays:

  • Saturday 25th February – Heat Four from Malmö
  • Saturday 4th March – Semi-Final from Örnsköldsvik
  • Saturday 11th March – Final from Stockholm

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).

In 2022, Sweden was represented by Cornelia Jakobs, who won the 61st edition of the competition and competed with the song “Hold Me Closer”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 4th with 438 points from the jury and televoters.
