Ahead of fourth heat of Melodifestivalen 2023 this weekend, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Mariette for an interview. She will be competing in this year at Melodifestivalen with her entry “One Day”

During their interview, Tim and Mariette talked about performing “One Day” for the crowd for the first time, how she has evolved as an artist, and whether or not she feels the pressure of keeping her record of going Direkt Til Finalen tonight and what she has learnt in competing at this year’s Melodifestivalen.
About Mariette
Mariette started off her career as a guitarist in different bands, by touring Europe and being on album recordings. Her Melodifestivalen journey started in 2015 where she competed with “Don’t Stop Believing” where she made the final and placed 3rd. Since then, Mariette participated 3 more times in 2017 (“A Million Years”), 2018 (“For You”), and in 2020 (“Shout It Out”), all of which; made the final.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since its debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).
In 2022, Sweden was represented by Cornelia Jakobs, who won the 61st edition of the competition and competed with the song “Hold Me Closer”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 4th with 438 points from the jury and televoters.
