After being confirmed as one of the performers for Modova’s Eurovision 2023 selection tonight, it has been announced that Poland’s Eurovision 2023 representative Blanka will not be making an appearance tonight’s show.
Flight cancellations is the reason for Blanka’s absenc
In a message to the organisers, it was revealed that flight cancellations is tha reason as to why Blanka was not able to make it.
“I checked all the options. (…) Tickets are not available on Sundays or Mondays at LOT. Air Moldova has canceled all flights to Warsaw these days – so there is no option. Sorry about that. It was very important for us to do it. I know how hard we worked to make this happen… but look, it’s not our fault. AIRLINE COMPANIES. I’m very sorry for this!”
Blanka on her absence in tonight’s show
Moldova is set to select its Eurovision 2023 representative today, with 10 artists competing to be the country’s next representative in Liverpool.
Poland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest, when Edyta Górniak represented them with the song “To nie ja!”, and placed 2nd (which is Poland’s best result at the contest to date). Since then, Poland has participated 24 times (15 of which was in the Grand Final). Poland’s recent Eurovision participation, saw them being represented by Ochman, who competed with “River”. Qualifying for the final, at the close of voting, he managed to place 12th with 151 points from the Jury and Televoters.
