Today, Israeli broadcaster Kan have released Israel’s entry for Eurovision 2023, “Unicorn”. The song is performed by Noa Kirel, and has been written by Kirel alongside Doron Madali, Yinon Yahel and May Sfadia.

Israel has returned to an internal selection format this year. Noa Kirel is a highly successful singer from Israel, with MTV Europe Music Awards and a contract with Atlantic Records under her belt. She is also an actress, and a judge on Israel’s edition of the Got Talent franchise.
Following the allocation draw, Israel will perform in the second half of the first semi-final on 9th May,

Israel’s Eurovision Journey
Israel has a long and wealthy history in the Eurovision Song Contest, making their debut in 1973 with Ilanit and โEy Shamโ. Their first entry scored 97 points, placing 4th. Israel has since gone on to win the Contest on four separate occasions โ in 1978, 1979, 1998 and 2018.
Michael Ben David represented Israel in Turin during the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song “I.M.”. At the close of voting, Israel finished in 13th place, scoring 61 points and therefore, not qualifying for the final.
